Doggone it, Rain!

Let me start off by saying I love rain. Rain rain rain rain - it's awesome. It has been making Denver beautiful & green again, and allowing us all have big roaring campfires without fear of a park ranger coming by & pistol whipping us.

But for cryin' out loud - I'm ready for it to stop now!

Mostly 'cause I had my lil' heart set on attending the weekly Denver Cruisers ride (the theme is "Christmas in July" this week!) and now my hopes are being dashed by stormy storm clouds.

Here's a pic from the last one I went to (Hawaiian Luau) - you can almost see me on my blue cruiser (just on the other side of the dude in the goofy hat & Hawaiian shirt in the middle). Sigh, I so wish I could dress up like an elf as I had planned and go tonight too....

New Music! Hooray!

My good friend Brian has been keeping me in the loop with all of the rad new music. (He's also the dude that got me in touch with past posts such as "My Spoon is Too Big" and "Pillar of Salt". He finds all the good stuff, I'm tellin' ya).

He recently burned me a DVD with a gajillion albums to explode my central music nervous system with glittering goodness. Here's some bands and/or artists that I've been absolutely falling in love with from it:

- The Thermals (in picture*)
- Myrah
- Elizabeth & the Catapult
- Laura Viers
- Liam Finn

I highly recommend you checking some if not all of these guys out. You won't regret it!
OH, and PS - Langhorne Slim is releasing his new album on September 29th. Mark your calendars! I can't wait!! :)

Monday Thoughts....

I've been thinking lately about how different my life would be if I had made certain decisions in my life... If I had stayed in Ohio, and continued my life there... If I had stayed with certain ex-boyfriends... If I had accidentally gotten pregnant... If my plans to move to London with Amber hadn't fallen through... If I didn't quit smoking... If I didn't get the job I have now & kept working at a bar...

Things would be so different! It's interesting how all those little decisions take us down completely different roads... I would be a completely different person!

Very strange when you think about it...
