Excited about...
My 32nd birthday!!  It's coming up in just a week, and boy, do I love birthdays.  I hope I never reach an age where I begin to dread them.  It's so much fun to have a day that's just for you.  And to have awesome friends that like to celebrate it with you!

Feeling...
Comforted.  And happy that I know that I made the right decision with John.  I am so glad that we could be mature about the whole thing, and I feel comforted every day knowing in my heart that we both were honest to ourselves and each other.  That's pretty awesome.

Listening to...
"Gone Girl" by Gillian Flynn.  It's for our next book club meeting, and I'm really enjoying it!  I'm not terribly far, but I just learned how to use the eBook download section of the Denver Public Library website, and I'm so thrilled.  I'm going to be listening to a lot more books now!

Grateful for...
Two days off... IN A ROW.  It's amazing how much I appreciate these little things now.  I don't always get it with my new job, and it's amazing how much happier I feel when I can have two days in a row to relax.  I'm enjoying some time off right now in fact!  YAY!

Reading...
"Unbroken" by Laura Hillenbrand.  I know what you're thinking - two books at once!?!  You CRAZY!!  Haha!  Well, they're both for book club, and I'm really loving them!  This one is so awesome, guys.  I love historical books, especially ones that don't seem like historical books.  This one reads like a novel, and it's SO GOOD.  I can't put it down.  It breaks your heart, lifts you up, and opens your mind to things you never even thought about before.  It's a wonderful story, and I would highly recommend it!  I'm about halfway through right now, and I can't wait to see how it ends.

Loving...
This spot right here.  It's a wonderfully snuggly place to be.  And even when the morning light starts peeking under my drapes, I still roll over and snuggle in for a little while longer.  I just love it.

Hating...
People that don't respect the people that handle their food.  We had a few of these people into the shop recently, and it just makes me mad to no end.  Wouldn't you think people would respect you MORE?  Sheesh.  I don't know why some people think they can shit on the people that are making their coffee for them, or making their food for them.  I didn't really like the moving "Waiting" that much, but there's a great line from it.  Mister Gorgeous (Ryan Reynolds) says:  "Never fuck with the people that serve you your food."  Now I'm not going to DO anything to your food (like they did), however I think people should definitely keep that in mind.  We work very hard, usually for not much money.  It's a lot of multitasking, and a lot of smiling when you don't want to.  So take it easy on us, 'kay?  Give us a break!  (Stepping off soapbox now...)

(And btw... how effing cute is this photo!?!?  LOVE IT!!)

Really wanting...
A VACATION!!  Megan and I are working on this right now, and I hope we can make it happen within the next few months.  Yes, that means I'm putting my spending fast on hold for a little while, but momma needs to get away for a little while.  I know it'll be worth it!!

Enjoying...
Morning breakfasts.  I've been having a couple of late-start-workdays, and it's been so nice to get up without an alarm, and cook a traditional vegetarian breakfast... you know, eggs, Morningstar bacon, coffeee... ;)  And the morning light through my kitchen window just perks me right up!

Watching...
Some of my old favorite movies.  I've been renting them from the library and watching 'em, and just loving it.  Last night I watched on of my favorites, Moonstruck.  If you haven't seen it, it's just wonderful.  I love Cher - she rocks my socks off!

I love this scene where her mom says "Do you love him, Loretta?", to which she replies, "Yeah, ma, I love him awful." She sighs and says, "That's too bad."

Noticing...
That I'm kinda ready for spring now!  Ironically, Denver is still in for the coldest / snowiest month of the year (March).  Ugh.  We were teased with a few 60 degree days, and now I'm spoiled.  I'm ready to break out my flip-flops, and my long flowing dresses!

Excited about... what 2013 may bring. I have some resolutions that I'm pretty excited about, and I can't wait to see what more I can learn about myself in the upcoming year.

Feeling... a bit confused about some personal stuff, but I hope to get it all worked out soon.  I know some of it is an internal battle, and some of it is not. But I know through some faith and some work that good will come out of it, and in whatever way it's supposed to.  Vague enough?

Listening to...The Lumineers. I didn't realize how great they were until recently!  One of my favorite artists ever (Langhorne Slim) is touring with them in Europe, and I just told my friend Katie about it because she lives in Amsterdam now.  She was thrilled to hear about the show (I guess she already was in love with The Lumineers), so she immediately bought tickets - and that made me extra super happy!  I hadn't listened to their album the whole way through until I'd heard from her, and now I'm kind of in love with them. :)

Grateful for... good friends.  I love them so much.  They're there when I need them, and I've needed them lately.  Love love love you.

Reading..."Stiff - The Curious Life of Human Cadavers" by Mary Roach.  Although this book is pretty gross, it's actually super fascinating.  I really like the way she keeps humor around all of the creepy & strange details.  So far it's really interesting, but I don't recommend reading it on your lunch break.  It has some unappetizing moments.

Loving... the simple joy and comfort that a cup of hot tea can bring.

Hating... all of the shootings I've been hearing about lately.  It makes me incredibly sad that these things keep happening.  I don't know how to stop them, but something needs to change.

Really wanting... to figure out the next step in my life.  I'm not sure if 2013 will be a year of change, or if it's just how I'm feeling right now.  I'm feeling a bit lost though, and I just want to know what the next move will be and what direction I will be headed in.

Enjoying... the holiday celebrations!  We've been to a couple awesome Christmas parties so far, and I'm just loving this time of year!

Watching... some of my favorite holiday movies.  So far I've watched A Muppet Christmas Carol (it's so wonderful), Gremlins (technically, it is a holiday movie), National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, and Die Hard (hey, it takes place a Christmastime)!
And now I kind of want this shirt (hilarious!!)...

Noticing... that my life is very different than I thought it would be at 31.  And I'm realizing that I'm totally OK with that.  Honestly, 10 years ago I thought I'd be married with kids by now - or living in New York with some crazy high-paying career as a photographer.  Funny where life takes us, huh?  I'm glad that I am where I am, and that I am who I am.  I certainly didn't see it coming, but that's how life is! :)

Excited about... the fact that my favorite holiday THANKSGIVING is coming up next!!  WOOHOO!!

Feeling... laid back and relaxed. I've been trying to take it easy the last week or so whenever I have a day off from work.  Not scheduling much, and just enjoying some peaceful time to myself!

(By the way, wouldn't you just love to have a cozy little spot like this to read in?  What a super cute book nook!)

Listening to... Eva Cassidy.  She has the most amazing voice, and I just love singing along with her.  She really knows how to put soul into some gospel songs!

This is one of my most favorite songs that she does (People Get Ready).  If you like this, you should definitely get her album Songbird.  It's amazing.

Grateful for... a house that is properly heated (FINALLY).  After going through 2 winters at my last apartment that had no insulation whatsoever, it's nice to be living in a house that's toasty.  It has been getting cold outside too!

Reading... Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell.  It's our next book club book this month, and I'm looking forward to seeing the movie when I'm finished!  It's a bit slow to start (the language is difficult to read), but hopefully I can stick to it.

Loving... soup.  I know, it's getting redundant.  But I really am loving soup right now. :)

Hating... my seemingly uncontrollable ability to avoid sugar.  I may have to do another cleanse starting in January!  (And yes, I'm waiting until then.  It's too late now)!

Really wanting... a sweet little doggie!  I am still not sure if I'm "ready" for one, and I know they take a lot of time and dedication when it comes to training and giving them enough attention.  But I would really love one someday... I love doggies so much!  I never grew up with a dog, so it'd definitely be a new experience for me.

Enjoying... the chilly weather, and the beautiful sunrises & sunsets.

Watching... GHOST HUNTERS!!  They did a marathon on Halloween day, and I watched an obscene amount of episodes.  Love that show!

Noticing... that I'm getting older, and things are changing.  Not in a bad way, just a new & different way!  I have realized that I would rather enjoy a night with a few close friends rather than a big party with a bunch of strangers.  I know now that I'd rather get a good night's sleep and get up early, rather than stay out all night.  Things are changing, but I think in a very good way.  I like where things are going, and I'm excited to see where they go next!

Excited about... my trip to New York coming up in just a few days!!  My cousin's big wedding, visiting my sister, and having the whole family there.  Can't wait.

Feeling... blessed.  So very blessed to be who I am, have the people that I have in my life, and to have a job that I love and that I'm excited about.

Listening to... Kimbra.  She's amazing, and so talented!  If you haven't seen this video yet, please watch.  She's awesome.

Grateful for... finding a new free yoga class!  Thanks, Kendra!!  I missed yoga, a LOT.

Reading... The Gates by John Connolly.  I was hoping it would be like The Book of Lost Things - another of Connolly's books that we read for book club.  But it's very different, and more comical.  I'm not sure what to think of yet, although it has been funny at times.  We'll see...

Loving... this much cooler fall weather, and wearing scarves again.  I absolutely adore scarf weather!

Hating... how the first debate went, and all of the political commercials.  C'mon Obama - get your act together!  I'm rootin' for ya!

Really wanting... an awesome European commuter bike.  Sigh, someday...

Enjoying... apple cider.  I missed you, my darling!

Watching... old school / classic scary movies.  Getting in the mood for Halloween (and trying to not watch any ones that are TOO scary before bedtime).  Already watched The Shining and Friday the 13th, now I need to move on to Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, and maybe a few classics I haven't seen yet!

Noticing... that my hair is growing back thick and full... with a lot of little grey hairs flecked throughout!  My goodness!  Not sure I'm ready for that yet... ;)
