I just discovered this wonderful little blog called "How About Orange". (Is it redundant to blog about a blog? Whatever). Anyways - it's my new favorite blog to read, so you should definitely check it out. It's full of great "time wasters", DIY craft ideas, cutesy stuff, and all around awesomeness. So if you get a minute (or if you're just bored) have a lookie! The link is in "My Favorite Bloggies" to the right.
Have a wonderfully orange-y day! :)

Flip Flops - WTF??
I recently went shopping with my friends Mindy and Nicole. I don't normally spend much time in malls, but since it was such a beautiful day outside, I thought I'd go indoors & shop.
I found a super duper cute pair of flip flops on display, but GASP'd when I glanced at the $64 price tag attached! $64 for a pair of spongy shoes with a strip of fabric to hold your foot in?? Yikes. So I went on my merry way to find a simpler, less expensive pair.
I found a display area with a bunch of flippie-floppies in a jillion different colors, and thought "these babies are for me!" becuase they always display the cheap stuff piled on one big rack. But my dreams were dashed yet again - at a price tag of $45! WTF?? When the hell did flip flops get so doggone expensive? Flip flops shouldn't cost any more than $10 - and even that price is reachin'. We're in a recession, f-f manufacturers -- have a heart!
My search for the perfect flip-flop continues....

Hair Helmet
I was thinking the other day of how soooo uncool bike helmets look. Yes, I know they're built for safety, but they'd make the coolest person on the planet look like a huge dork. I wear mine every time I hit the streets on my bike, but most of the time I'm reluctant to do so as it totally messes with my awesome bike-chick vibe (and doesn't match my outfit).
I was discussing my unhappiness of the situation with a friend the other day, and they said "Why not make a hair helmet? Like in Flight of the Conchords?" I laughed as I recalled the properly titled "hair helmet" that the guys created (which is just a bunch of fake hair glued to a bike helmet, that once strapped on your noggin' resembles an afro wig).
Although it made for a hilarious moment in television, I doubt that it would make me look like less of a dork. However, it would definitely make for some good laughs.

Restless
I'm feeling super restless today. Don't know where it came from. Just feeling worn out, kinda bored, sick of the same thing every day. Maybe I just need a vacation. I dunno. It's a really helpless feeling, and I don't like it!
That's all - it just came over me now. Hopefully this weekend will still be awesome, and I hope yours is awesome too!

Bicycle Chic!
I'm so excited for Spring! The sundresses, the flowers, the warm weather, a cool beer on a warm patio -- doesn't get much better than that.
I just started getting happy about riding my bike everywhere too. (Now if the doggone blizzards in Denver would stop, I could get into doing it again!) Denver is a great bicycle-friendly place too, and I just started getting obsessed with riding mine everywhere I can.
I hate lycra, and those stupid biking shirts with all the advertisements on them -- so I mainly just wear jeans, and whatever the heck else I want. My slip-on green shoes, my blue scarf -- anything that floats my fancy.
Turns out, I'm not alone! There are actually a bunch of BLOGS dedicated to the wonders of Bicycle Chic! Some of my favorites are to the right (under "my favorite bloggies"), and here's a great one as well. http://www.copenhagencyclechic.com/
The photos here are from the Riding Pretty blog -- she takes some wonderful photos, and has the cutest blog entries ever.
So enjoy, and happy Spring! :)
