My Sister the Fashionista (and a cute Fudge video)

My little sister has a pretty awesome sense of style.  She's really been finding her own fashoinista ways lately, and I just love what she's come up with!  She always takes a few simple & fun items (a big scarf / cute sunglasses), then pairs them with a cute dress or skirt that really pulls the outfit together.  I gotta say, this little chickie has come a long way!

Ain't she just fabulous??  We met up after work / class and it was such a gorgeous evening for walkin' around!  She came over and I made bean pie while we talked about our days.  Then we watched an episode of "Buffy" and "Weeds", and drank some wine.  It was so nice to catch up!

She just got that new short haircut that's absolutely adorable too.  Short cuts really suit her! :)

On another note, John and I discovered something very interesting the other night... Fudge's reaction to getting air blown in his face.  The results were pretty hysterical.... (please ignore the snorting - sometimes I have no control)!

Hope you're all having a great week so far!! :)

Dancing Doggie!

I've been back from New York for a couple of days now, and I'm still trying to get caught up!  (And yes, that includes blogging too). ;)

I had a wonderful time with my big sis - we spent a little bit of time outside of the city this time around which was great (and different)!  I will share pictures very soon.

For now, since I don't have much to say and should probably get back to work - here's a hilarious dancing doggie!  Hey, if you don't have a dancing partner... you may as well train the pup, right?  Hehe!

Hyperbole = Hilarious Blog

I just discovered this blog a few days ago from a friend that posted about it on Facebook. I have been laughing my butt off ever since!

She basically tells real (somewhat exaggerated for the sake of humor) stories about her life, with funny little crappy illustrations to go along with it. If you like dark / witty / ridiculous / well-written / sarcastic humor, this is the place for you. I have literally been "LOL-ing" (sorry, but it's true) ALL day!

Here are a couple of snip-its from the page (and her "Expectations VS Reality" post):

Here's one of her videos too - oh my gosh - so funny!!

Keep in mind, her descriptions make up half the hilarity. I hope I'm not blowing it completely out of proportion, but whatever!

All images from Hyperbole and a Half blog - all rights are hers, they ain't mine!

OH, and just for some more fun (and more laughs), do yourself a favor and watch some Nick Swardson stand-up comedy on YouTube. Click HERE to watch the first section of his Comedy Central Special ("Seriously, Who Farted"). If you like the first, watch the rest. Trust me, you'll be giggling at work enough to make your boss take notice (uhm, as I did), so you may want to watch 'em at home! :)

Learn to Appreciate Technology

I know, right?? 2 video posts in 1 day? Am I CRAZY??
No, I just watched this video and it cracked me up. Louis CK is freakin' hilarious, and I wanted to share. OK back to work now!

OK GO: "End Love" Music Video

I just saw this video, and had to share right away!!
I love, LOVE that OK GO can take the simplest idea & make it something amazing. If you haven't watched all of their music videos, please do so now. You don't need a big budget to make an awesome video (although I don't see what the hooplah is about the big budget ones anyway).

I had a huge smile on my face the whole way through this one!

Who doesn't love Rube Goldberg machines?

The whole idea spurs thoughts of child-like excitement and anticipation of what will happen next. I am not the biggest fan of "OK GO", but they make the most creative & fun music videos! And on a very VERY small budget - which just goes to show, it doesn't take money to make something interesting, fun, and entertaining.

So enjoy - another masterpiece by OK GO!

Hair Helmet

I was thinking the other day of how soooo uncool bike helmets look. Yes, I know they're built for safety, but they'd make the coolest person on the planet look like a huge dork. I wear mine every time I hit the streets on my bike, but most of the time I'm reluctant to do so as it totally messes with my awesome bike-chick vibe (and doesn't match my outfit).

I was discussing my unhappiness of the situation with a friend the other day, and they said "Why not make a hair helmet? Like in Flight of the Conchords?" I laughed as I recalled the properly titled "hair helmet" that the guys created (which is just a bunch of fake hair glued to a bike helmet, that once strapped on your noggin' resembles an afro wig).

Although it made for a hilarious moment in television, I doubt that it would make me look like less of a dork. However, it would definitely make for some good laughs.

Cannibal! the Musical

Last night I watched another hilarious Troma movie release entitled "Cannibal! The Musical" -- based on the true story of Alfred Packer. It was written and directed by Trey Parker (co-creator of South Park), so you can only imagine the ridiculousness that ensued.

In the midst of horrible acting and lulls in the story -- there was room for a number of moments where I laughed so hard that it was worth watching. For example, Alfred (played by Trey himself) led the group to a river that they needed to cross. One man wondered how deep the river could be, so Alfred turned, picked up a rock from the riverbed, and tossed it into the water where it made a large splash. Everyone stood staring for a moment, and Alfred said nothing. Eventually the man turned to Alfred and said "well what the fuck was that supposed to do?"

Yeah, that cracked me up.

So if you enjoy really stupid humor, all put to music by one of the minds behind South Park, definitely check out this flick. It's so awful that it's kinda good!

Foux De Fa Fa

I love Flight of the Conchords -- they're hilarious. So below is the music video for the very funny song "Foux Da Fa Fa" -- and below is the even more hilarious translation of everything they're saying. Enjoy!!!

“Foux Da Fa Fa” Translation:

I would like a croissant
I am delighted.
Where is the library?
Here’s my passport.
Ah, Gerard Depardieu.
A baguette! [laughs]
A baguette! [laughs]

[Chorus] *Note: “foux da fa fa”, as far as I can tell as a fluent French speaker, is a nonsensical French-sounding phrase.

And now the trip to the supermarket.
Grapefruit
Pineapple
Orange juice
Beef
Soup of the day
Camembert
Jacques Cousteau
Baguette!

Hello.
Hello.
Hello.
Hello, mister.
Hello my small foreign currency exchange office.

How are you doing?
I’m doing okay.
How are you doing?
I’m doing okay.
Voilà! A conversation in the park!

Where is the book?
At the library.
And the dance music?
At the dance club.
And the dance clubs?
It’s here, baby!
One, two, one, two, three, four!

[Chorus]

Where is the swimming pool?
Pardon me?
Where is the swimming pool?
Uh…
Splish splosh ["frenchified" splashing noises]
Uh…Eh…I don’t understand.
Do you speak the French?
Eh?
Do you speak the French?
Uh … no.
Hmmmm.

[Chorus]
